The holidays bring new phones, tablets and battery-powered toys into our homes, and the old ones usually end up in a drawer. This year, let's get them recycled instead.
On Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 9 AM to 2 PM, Impact Printing Services, 4314 N 7th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85013 is hosting Impact E-Waste Drop-Off Day, with a ResQ Booth on site. Drop-off is free for residents.
What you can bring
Single-use batteries: AA, AAA, C, D, 9V
Electronic cables & chargers
Small rechargeable gadgets (earbuds, electric toothbrushes and similar)
Laptops and desktop computers
Smaller flat screens & monitors
Keyboards & mice
Hard drives
Rechargeable batteries
Nothing larger than a desktop printer, please.
Before you come: put tape over the ends of rechargeable (lithium) batteries, or bag each one on its own. The EPA recommends this to help prevent short circuits.
Why it matters
Lithium batteries don't belong in the trash or the recycling cart. In those streams they can get crushed or punctured, and that can start a fire. An EPA analysis found 245 fires at 64 U.S. waste facilities between 2013 and 2020 that were caused by, or likely caused by, lithium batteries, and it notes the real number is likely higher (EPA, 2021). In 2025, publicly reported fires at U.S. and Canadian waste and recycling facilities hit a record of 448 (Fire Rover).
