About ResQ
Building a Sustainable Future starting with single-use alkaline battery recycling across Mesa, and soon Tempe, then the greater Phoenix Metro Valley.
Our Story: A Mesa Arizona-Based Mission
ResQ is starting in Mesa, Arizona, driven by a simple realization: too many single-use alkaline batteries are being thrown away, despite their recyclable potential. When surveyed 9 out 10 people would rather recycle their household batteries if given a convenient option. We saw a gap in accessible recycling options across Phoenix, Tempe, and surrounding areas, and decided to act. Starting as a small, community-focused initiative, we’re growing into a movement, helping households and businesses keep batteries out of landfills—one battery at a time.
Our approach integrates:
Household Solutions: ResQ Boxes for easy at-home battery collection.
Community Drop-Off Points: ResQ Bins in schools, offices, and retail centers offer convenient recycling and double as impactful billboards for sustainability-focused branding.
Sustainable Partnerships: Businesses sponsor ResQ Bin panels, gaining visibility while funding the logistics that make recycling possible.
How We Help: ResQ Boxes for Home Collection & ResQ Bins for Drop-Off.
We make battery recycling as easy as refilling your coffee mug. Our ResQ Boxes let you collect single-use alkaline batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, 9V) at home, and our ResQ Bins provide convenient drop-off points soon across Mesa, Phoenix, and Tempe. Together with our partners, we recycle up to 96% of each battery, closing the loop sustainably. Note: ResQ Bins are for alkaline single-use batteries only—rechargeables should be dropped off at retailers like Batteries Plus or Home Depot (check locally) or at a ResQ E-Waste Collection Event together with our E-Waste recycling partners.
Disrupting OOH Marketing with ResQ Bin Panels
Traditional OOH marketing—like ads on bus benches or barbershop TVs—intrudes without impact, hitting you when you least care. ResQ Bins change the game by impacting what you care about, sustainability and the Earth. Picture this: You drop off your batteries at your favorite yoga studio and see XYZ proudly powering this eco-friendly hub. You spot XYZ again on your church’s ResQ Bin, linking them to causes you cherish. The next time XYZ comes up, you feel an instant trust—they’re not just a brand, they share your values. Now that’s OOH marketing with a meaningful trace, not invading your space.
Making a Difference, One Battery at a Time
Our Vision: A Sodium-Ion Future
We envision a world where batteries are sustainable from start to finish. That’s why we advocate for single-use sodium-ion batteries, which can be recycled at rates up to 98% and use abundant materials like sodium (2.8% of Earth’s crust vs. lithium’s 0.0018%). They’re also 30% cheaper per kWh than lithium-ion batteries, making sustainability affordable.
Sodium-ion batteries: 98% recyclable, 30% cheaper, and conflict-free!
We champion rechargeable batteries but push for a shift to sodium-ion chemistry. Lithium and nickel are tied to conflict minerals—lithium mining fuels 20% of global cobalt conflict—while sodium-ion offers a safer, easier-to-recycle alternative. Join us in Mesa, Phoenix, and Tempe to power a cleaner future!
ResQ is on an ambitious path to grow our impact across the nation. Here’s what’s ahead:
Scaling Sustainability to Meet the Need
-
By the end of 2025, ResQ aims to establish a strong network of 100 ResQ Bin locations across Mesa. These strategically placed bins will provide convenient drop-off points in schools, businesses, and retail centers, making battery recycling accessible to thousands of residents.
-
Over the next two years, ResQ will replicate its success in Mesa by expanding into neighboring cities. With 100 locations in each city, we’ll ensure that every community has access to easy, sustainable household battery recycling drop offs. This growth will also enable more businesses to participate as sponsors, aligning their brands with sustainability.
-
Building on our Arizona success, ResQ will expand to Oklahoma City. This phase includes the introduction of design specific drop-off ResQ Bins. Newly upgraded design to handle all types of batteries as well as small smart e-waste such as smart glasses, phones, tablets, and watches for recycling. This bin will also provide new and improved panels for displaying our advertising partners.
-
ResQ’s Series A Funding Round will finance its largest growth phase, targeting key metropolitan areas across the U.S. This expansion will establish ResQ as a nationwide leader in battery recycling, with a focus on high-traffic urban areas to maximize impact. Our first expansions will be into Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Miami, Dallas, Austin, Houston, Seattle, Denver, Wichita, and St. Louis.
-
By Year 5 & Beyond, ResQ will own/operate or partner with a U.S.-based advanced recycling hub that reclaims lithium, nickel, cobalt, and other critical materials from discarded vapes and batteries, using water reclamation technology to safely process hazardous waste. These recovered materials will power EV batteries, home energy storage, and high-tech manufacturing, reducing reliance on imports and strengthening U.S. energy independence. With a nationwide ResQ Bin network ensuring steady material collection, ResQ will position itself as the leading force in sustainable e-waste recovery. By 2031, ResQ will finalize metro expansions and explore mergers, acquisitions, and future-gen recycling innovations to accelerate growth and solidify its position as the premier battery and e-waste recycling facilitator.
